In past few weeks there was a great unrest and turmoil in Northern Africa, first there was Tunisia, now is Egypt. People are asking for changing, they seek for freedom, social justice.... or do they?
As usual I support all kind of rebellion against oppressions, but there are few questions that makes me wonder.
1.What they really ask for?
2.Is there chance to get that?
3.And most important of all, is that what they ask for, really an answer to their real needs?
First, it seems that they ask a more democracy, more flexible government. It is true that their governments are totalitarian, but this kind of government is a part of their history especially in Egypt. This country have stood for thousands of years under the sole rule of one god like man, or a woman. The had never have a democracy in our western way. And people seemed happy, of course there was a uprisings in past, but the main reason was social and economical, not political. They have arise for food, and work, not for right to rule, or to choose their own rulers. And, as history teach us, they have never had happiness with that, never they had success to obtain that. After all those uprisings, country was in ruins... and a target for invasions and so on.
Second, I do not think so, if they want a solution for their social and economical problems, and if they succeed to overthrow the dictators, and install the democracy, I do not see how they will solve their problems, because the whole international system is based on greed, no one will save them from exploitation from others, so called western democratic states. They have nothing to offer except their own hands, minds, and so on to the others... others that would like to see them on their knees begging for a piece of bread.
Third, no it is not a answer to their needs, the only real answer to their needs is a complete turmoil and change of current international system. Because the democracy is not what you can put in the plate. This so called free system is worthless if you have no food, no job, no home....
We all must think of it.
